Our Founder

Nathan Helder.
From landscaper to
legacy builder.

Nathan Helder is a growth architect, strategic investor, and coach for owner-led businesses. With over 25 years of entrepreneurial and leadership experience, he has walked the road most founders are on - and now walks beside them as a trusted partner.

Who he is

After earning his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Guelph in 1998, specializing in Animal Nutrition, Nathan spent eight years as a dairy nutritionist and sales consultant. He worked closely with farmers across Ontario, designing feed programs to improve milk production and animal health.

In 2006, he made a bold pivot — purchasing Gelderman Landscape Services, a third-generation company he would go on to triple in size and eventually sell. Along the way, he founded Southbrook Accounting and began coaching leaders in construction, irrigation, and other trades-based businesses.

Today, Nathan blends operational wisdom, financial clarity, and leadership development to help other founders grow what they’ve built into something lasting and meaningful.

Why he started TRUEHELM

After years of building his own ventures and helping others do the same, Nathan saw a common pattern: businesses plateaued not due to market limits but because of structural gaps, leadership fatigue, and lack of financial clarity. TRUEHELM was born to solve this - not as a consultant from the outside, but as a partner on the inside.

Nathan brings more than capital - he brings context. He understands the weight of ownership, the loneliness of leadership, and the potential hiding behind fragile systems. TRUEHELM is his way of helping other founders find freedom, focus, and forward momentum.
